about

Producer and label boss Leigh Morgan was born at a very young age and showed an early affinity for music, quickly mastering the recorder and reaching grade 3 on the piano. Leaving education due to ‘creative differences’, Leigh entered the music industry at a gallop and hasn’t looked back since, co-running legendary deep house label Urban Torque, whilst quietly squirrelling away ideas for his own future music projects.

Leigh has gone on to continued success despite looking like a talking egg. He’s now grown some kind of beard, presumably because he didn’t look like a character from Guess Who enough already, and has finally managed to put out his debut album A Knack For Calamity, after literally years of tinkering.

In his spare time, Leigh enjoys writing Tracy Beaker fan fiction, adding to his collection of arcane Mp3s and being nice to people. He has also developed an interest in environmental issues because as a talking egg he is in danger of being boiled alive by global warming.

“I also like to work on my beard” enthused the grubby Leigh, “And seeing how many different smells I can store in there by the end of the day."

A Knack For Calamity is Leigh’s debut album and features lots of squiggly noises, clipperty clopperty beats, chords, feelings and some bad boi riddems hear me now. Some of the songs feature sounds that call for adjectives like sweeping, wooshing, and worrying, while others are all warm and cuddly like a teddy bear made of velvet clouds and candy floss on MDMA joints.

There are thirteen songs in all and they’re like the very best of Urban Torque updated for a new decade, with musical concepts forged in the embers of a dying sun, drawing together all genres from all moments, past, present and future, distilling the very essence of music down to its very purest form, music as energy, as elemental force, all encompassing, transcending all matter and thought in an ultimate cosmic new art form, nay, a new audio religion that shall henceforth be known as Leighism. Bow down before him and despair.
